1970s glazed stoneware lamp with printed oval lampshade

Table lamp, hand-thrown ceramic from the 70s, from an artisanal studio in Ribeauvillé, Alsace. Its simple and balanced orb shape is highlighted by a beautiful deep dark chocolate glaze, almost black depending on the light, which delicately captures reflections.

Style : unique piece, full of character. Orb shape characteristic of the minimalist design of that era. Signature "fait main – Ribeauvillé" (handmade – Ribeauvillé) : several Alsatian pottery or stoneware studios signed their work this way between the 60s and 80s, often with small-batch production for boutiques or craft fairs.
