Table lamp, painted turned wood base. Lovely "wine dregs" (deep burgundy) color.

Style : this spiral turned wood base is common in bedside or living room lamps from this period. The twisted wood (or "barley twist") is a decorative form that appeared as early as the 17th century but experienced several renaissances, particularly in the 50s-60s, when there was a return to rustic and artisanal style in interiors.
